Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has received as many as 63 complaints during the Prajavani.
Most of the complaints are about old layouts of ventures being altered illegally and plots, roads, and parks being occupied.
The complainants accused encroachers of misusing the power of former municipal councilors and ward members to encroach on their property. Many complained that there was no response from local authorities even after they complained about them.
Residents of AV Nagar-2 reported that they face flooding because a wall was constructed over a blocked stormwater passage on Turkayamjal Lake. In Pratap Singaram, Ghatkesar Mandal, a layout was made in 1989 with 390 plots covering a total area of 25.17 acres, out of which 88 plots were occupied.
Those who lost their plots complained to HYDRAA that a total of 6.14 acres of land was encroached by an individual generating a passbook through Dharani and claiming ownership. The complainants also claimed that roads and parks have been infringed upon throughout the layout.
In Boduppal, Devender Nagar Weaker Section Society representatives requested HYDRAA to allot a school playground, a 1,200-square-yard government land that was encroached on.
Representatives of Srirangapura Colony have complained that a former public representative has occupied 1,050 yards of parkland in Ward 24 of Srirangapura in the Urukayanjal Municipality of the Rangareddy District. They also complained that the road leading to six colonies in the locality was also occupied, leaving no way out.
After going through the complaints, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath assured the complainants that their issues would be investigated soon and the officials concerned would visit the affected locations within two weeks to conduct spot investigations.
