Hyderabad: HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath has stated that numerous issues will be resolved once the Full Tank Level (FTL) determination of the city's lakes is completed.

He directed the concerned officials instructions to finish this process as quickly as feasible. Ranganath said that while determining the FTL using information collected from the relevant departments and using technology, public objections should also be taken into account.

HYDRAA receives 57 complaints

The HYDRAA Commissioner had received a total 57 complaints during the Prajavani at his office, majority of which were about lake and water body encroachments. Apart from that complaints have also been received about road impediments between colonies, development without respecting previous layout limits, and the conversion and sale of portions of property designated for public use.

After going through the complaints, Ranganath said that a special column should be included in the `Lake Enumeration` app, being developed for FTL determination, to raise objections. He also said that the constant influx of sewage water into the ponds and the filling of soil from one side necessitates a speedy assessment of the FTL in the context of fluctuating FTL restrictions.

The FTL is being determined using village, revenue, HMDA, GHMC, Irrigation, Survey of India records, as well as NRSC satellite images. The HYDRAA Commissioner directed the officials to form a special expert committee and inform the complainants that efforts were being taken to avoid any misconceptions.

Kapra lake FTL demolished by encroachers

Locals have complained that the park land located in survey number 161 of Mettukaniguda, Gajularamaram village in Quthbullapur mandal of Medchel - Malkajigiri district, along with the adjacent government building, has been encroached upon. Residents of Kapra who attended the programme revealed that the fencing demarcating the full tank level of Kapra Lake was demolished by encroachers.

In a complaint, Mallampeta residents alleged that the high-rise PVR Meadows in Dundigal Municipality, Malkajgiri district, has blocked the access to neighboring colonies by building walls around them. Another complaint concerned a real estate company's encroachment on the buffer zone of a stormwater drain that empties into Thimmakka Cheruvu in Patancheru.

Another complaint has been received that three acres of graveyard land is being occupied by creating plots as their own in Parvatipuri village of Peerzadiguda Municipality, Uppal.
