Hyderabad: HYDRAA receives 64 complaints, commissioner Ranganath orders immediate action
Hyderabad: HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath has directed officials to focus on the buildings and compound walls across roads that are creating problems for the people in residential areas across the twin cities.
During Prajavani, Ranganath received as many as 64 complaints regarding compound walls erected around the residential colonies to prevent the other colony residents from commuting through their premises, clogging the canals, and impeding the passage of flood waters, among other issues.
Check permits for compound walls
After reviewing the complaints, the HYDRAA Commissioner directed the officials to check to see if there were any permits to build the compound walls. And if not, to dismantle them immediately, he directed. Officials should take steps to ensure that all roads are used by everyone without causing any inconvenience to anyone.
A complainant from Ghatkesar in Medchal-Malkajgiri district alleged that a park area in the Bhagyanagar Nandanavanam Layout had encroached on survey number 54, Kachavani Singaram village.
In 1977, a layout was developed with 340 plots, and in 2007 a resolution was passed to develop it as a Gram Panchayat layout with 110 plots. The encroachers applied for HMDA permission in 2010, showing that they had bought the same layout in 2006.
The complainant also claimed that the Divya Nagar Plot Owners Welfare Association sold plots, including the park area, without permission even though the HMDA had not approved the layout.
Another complaint from Jubilee Hills claimed that unauthorized persons were using land designated for the Rock Gardens Layout for commercial reasons under the Film Nagar Cultural Club.
Residents of Devarayamjal village in Medchal-Malkajgiri complained that they were left without a road after the construction of a compound wall on 3.39 acres of survey numbers 452 and 453.
In Kushaiguda of Kapra municipality, the complaints alleged that a parkland in survey number 177 was occupied and sold as plots. Apart from encroaching on the government land, they have also established a toddy compound there.
After examining each complaint thoroughly, the HYDRAA commissioner ordered the officials to take appropriate action.
