Prajavani: HYDRAA Commissioner Ranganath receives 83 complaints; sets 3 weeks deadline for resolving grievances
Locals voiced concerns over illegal constructions and encroachments on lakes

Ranganath received as many as 83 complaints from the public during the Prajavani Prajavani programme which began at 11 am and continued till night at Buddha Bhavan here.
Locals voiced concerns over illegal constructions and encroachments on lakes, roads, and government properties.
He asked officers to address the grievances within three weeks after these are lodged at the Prajavani program every Monday.
A complainant from Hyder Nagar in Kukatpally claimed that a land grabber had unlawfully encroached on 1,200 square yards of government land. The complainant said that despite the Telangana High Court's direction for the MRO and collector to recover the property, nothing has been done so far in this regard.
Even after the High Court ordered the MRO to act, how can they do nothing? Seetarama Raju, the complaint, stated, "I submitted the documents to the HYDRAA, and the Commissioner promised to investigate and take action as soon as possible,ā he said.
Another resident, Bhaskar Reddy of Mallikarjun Hills in Nacharam raised concerns over encroachment, alleging that parks in their layout had been usurped and sold off by encroachers.
"We filed numerous complaints with the GHMC, but we never heard back. Nevertheless, commissioner Ranganath responded favorably, promising to visit the location and confirm the paperwork in three weeks, Bhaskar Reddy said.
Reacting to a complaint regarding encroachment on a Cyberabad road, Ranganath directed officials to verify and order demolition If they discover any violation.

Another complaint was filed by an 81-year-old veteran of the 1971 Indo-Pak War. PS Raju served in Kargil during the conflict and was released due to an injury.
In his complaint, Raju informed Ranganath that a local woman had encroached house and parkland allotted to him by the government. Even though the issue was taken up with local officials, no action was taken. The commissioner assured to resolve the grievance after conducting a deliberation with the local authorities.
"We've already been portrayed negatively by the media. They claim that HYDRAA is uncaring toward the impoverished," the commissioner clarified to a complainant. She was a senior citizen who approached the agency to voice her displeasure with the conditions close to her Gudimalkapur residence.
"People who visit the market or any store wind up parking their cars everywhere, obstructing the way to my house,ā the senior citizen said in her complaint. The commissioner, however, declined to consider the case. "I see the sincerity of your complaint. But I have no control over traffic or footpaths. He clarified that the problem is entirely the responsibility of the Traffic Department.
For a speedy conclusion, he also recommended her to complain to Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand. In a similar vein, another complaint attended the Prajavani in the hope that an encroachment in the Nalgonda district would be cleared. Ranganath dismissed the complaint and told her to approach the Nalgonda Superintendent of Police.
The program highlighted the city's rising concerns over unauthorized construction and land encroachment. Ranganath asked people to keep using the Prajavani forum to express their problems and reaffirmed HYDRAA's commitment to resolving these issues.
