Prostitution Racket: Police arrest main organiser Paheliwan Akhilesh at Abids Hotel

Hyderabad: In a significant operation based on credible information, the South Zone Task Force police conducted a raid on a hotel in Abids on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of a gang involved in organizing prostitution.

The main organiser, identified as Ramnagar Paheliwan Saluvadi Akhilesh, 34 years old, and the owner of Fortune Hotel located on Big Bazar Lane, Abids, was apprehended during the operation. The raid, executed with precision, revealed the involvement of various individuals from different states of India in the illegal prostitution business.

Akhilesh, in collaboration with his associate Pakkala Raghupathi, allegedly procured female sex workers through a network of known individuals.

The suspects named in the operation include PK, Prabath Majunder, Mukesh, Simani, Raju Bhai, and Deepak, from Kolkata, West Bengal, and Nani from Bowenpally, Secunderabad. All seven individuals are currently absconding.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Raghupathi, working as a receptionist and sub-brothel organizer, was in charge of contacting the individuals involved, procuring female sex workers, and managing customers. He operated under the instructions of Akhilesh, collecting amounts ranging from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 5000 for one hour of illegal activities.

Further inquiries revealed that the gang had been luring innocent women under the pretext of job opportunities. A total of 16 victim women, hailing from West Bengal and Mumbai, were rescued during the raid. Additionally, four customers and two organizers, including Akhilesh, were arrested.

The victims, who were promised jobs, were coerced into engaging in illegal activities upon their arrival in Hyderabad. The police are now pursuing the absconding suspects and working to dismantle the entire network involved in this illicit trade. The arrested individuals were given to the Abids police station for further investigation. A case has been booked under section 370, 370A IPC, 3, 4, 5 PIT ACT and is currently under investigation.
