Kondapur residents report blocked roads to HYDRAA, demand action
Hyderabad: Residents of Kondapur in Serilingampally mandal are facing severe inconvenience due to blocked public roads.
Locals complained to HYDRAA Prajavani that a 40-feet road opposite Prestige IVY Apartments, near Raghavendra Shelters Colony, has been completely blocked, cutting off access to a public park.
They alleged that the road between plot numbers 9 and 23 and 44 and 53 has been closed by adjoining property holders. Another 40-feet road between plot numbers 22 and 23 and 24 and 26 has also been encroached upon by nearly 7 feet, narrowing it significantly and making the daily commute difficult.
Residents demanded immediate clearance to restore public pathways.
Encroachments on government land in Gajularamaram
HYDRAA Prajavani also received complaints from Gajularamaram village in Quthbullapur Mandal, where locals alleged that government land in Survey Numbers 307/1, 308/2, 308/3 and 308/5, spanning over 271 acres, is being illegally occupied.
They stated that the land, earlier under APSFC and later reclaimed by the Telangana government, is now under threat of encroachment, with locals allegedly facilitating the illegal occupation. Complainants urged authorities to protect this vast public asset from land grabbers.
Parks occupied in Dulapally Industrial Area
In another major grievance, residents of Dulapally Industrial Area, Kompally Municipality, reported that two out of four parks allocated in their layout have been encroached upon. The 1967 layout, covering 157 acres with 1696 plots, earmarked four parks for public use.
While two parks fall under Fox Sagar FTL limits, the other two have reportedly been occupied by heirs of the original layout developers. Colony Welfare Association members urged HYDRAA to take immediate action to free these parks and restore them for community recreation.
Lake encroachments threaten fishermen's livelihood
The fishermenās association of Mettukani Gudem in Gajularamaram appealed to HYDRAA to protect Pedda Cheruvu, stating that of its 26.3 acres, nearly 6 acres have already been encroached upon. They highlighted that inflow channels from five upstream lakes are being bypassed, depriving Pedda Cheruvu of water even during monsoon.
Fishermen alleged that land grabbers are attempting to erase the lakeās boundaries to claim ownership. They urged officials to protect and develop the lake to sustain their livelihoods.
Public road closed in Shantinagar Housing Society
Residents of Shantinagar Housing Society in Serilingampally Mandal lodged a complaint with Prajavani stating that a 60-feet road in Survey No 132 has been blocked illegally. The road was part of the original approved layout plan, and its closure has now obstructed free movement for the entire colony.
They demanded that the road be reopened immediately to restore connectivity for hundreds of residents relying on it for daily commutes.
HYDRAA response
HYDRA Additional Commissioner Varla Papayya reviewed all 61 complaints received on Monday, verified the details using Google Maps, and instructed concerned officials to act swiftly.
Officials assured that all encroachments will be investigated on the ground and appropriate action will be taken to restore public spaces for rightful community use.
