The Saroonagar police reached the spot and checked the CCTV footage. They found that a stranger, who looked to be around 45 years old, had approached the child and abducted him. The Rachakonda commissioner of police pressed the Saroornagar police and IT cell teams into action.
The teams tracked the CCTV footage from various places and traced the accused, Manupati Muthaiah (45), to Anthampet village in Marriguda mandal. They arrested the man and rescued the child.
The police found that Manupati Muthaiah had married twice but both his wives had left him. He used to work as a labourer in Saroornagar. On Tuesday, he found the child alone on the street and abducted him with the intention of raising him as his own.
