Rahul urges Telangana to remove ‘Dorala Sarkar’, choose Prajala Sarkar for next 10 years
“For the past 10 years you have seen Dorala Sarkar and in the next 10 years you will get to see Prajala Sarkar,” he told the crowd
By Newsmeter Network Published on 25 Nov 2023 12:22 PM GMTHyderabad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said his party has ‘punctured all four tyres of the BJP’ in poll-bound Telangana and shall do it in Delhi soon.
Addressing election rallies in Telangana, he said BRS chief Chandrashekar Rao should realise that it was Congress that built the school and university in which he studied.
Describing the upcoming election as a battle between ‘Dorala Sarkar’ (feudal government) and ‘Prajala Sarkar’ (people’s government), the Gandhi family scion said that while people of Telangana dreamt of building a pro-poor and farmers’ government, the chief minister dashed their hopes.
“For the past 10 years you have seen Dorala Sarkar and in the next 10 years you will get to see Prajala Sarkar,” he told the crowd.
Gandhi gives Congress credit for the development of Telangana
“KCR is asking what Congress has done. I tell KCR that the school in which you studied and the university you studied in was set up by the Congress party. The airport from where your aircraft takes off was built by the Congress. The outer ring road on which your vehicles are plying was constructed by the Congress,” he said.
He also gave full credit to his party for the formation of Telangana. “It was the Congress party which transformed Hyderabad into a major IT hub in the world,” the Congress leader said.
Allegations of fraud in Telangana’s schemes
Taking potshots at the KCR family, he said they hold all ‘moneymaking portfolios.’ Referring to the Kaleswaram irrigation project, Gandhi accused Rao of looting Rs 1 lakh crores from it.
He also charged the BRS MLAs with taking Rs 3 lakhs as cut from the beneficiaries of the Dalit Bandhu scheme and grabbing lands in the name of computerisation and Dharani while the Congress party distributed lands to the poor with rights during its tenure.
Rahul Gandhi alleged that the BRS government diverted Rs 5,500 crores from the ST sub-plan and Rs 15,000 crores from the SC sub-plan.
Rahul lists Congress promises
Listing out the Congress’ ‘six guarantees’, he said under the Mahalakshmi scheme, women beneficiaries are likely to receive up to Rs 5,000 by way of monthly pensions, free bus travel and subsidised LPG cylinders.
Alleging that the BJP and BRS are one and the same and have a tacit understanding in supporting each other whenever needed, he said that earlier BJP leaders used to roam arrogantly, but the Congress party ‘removed gas’ from them and ‘punctured’ all the four tyres of the saffron vehicle in Telangana.
“BRS wants to inflate their tyres. But they don’t realise that the Congress party has forever damaged BJP’s tyres. Now we are going to Delhi and puncture all four tyres of Modi’s vehicle,” he said mockingly.
Gandhi stressed the need to defeat BRS in Telangana and then Narendra Modi in Delhi. KCR wants Modi to be in power in Delhi and the latter wants to keep BRS as chief in Telangana, he alleged.
Priyanka vows Telangana access to public wealth
In a separate election campaign rally, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Priyanka Gandhi appealed to people to vote for Congress to receive employment to youth, houses for the homeless, economic empowerment of women and loan waiver for farmers.
Addressing numerous well-attended road shows in Khammam city, on Saturday, she said if the Congress party is voted to power with a big majority people would get access to public wealth.
“In the states where the Congress is in power, public fortunes were distributed to people and employment vacancies were filled,” she said and accused the BRS of destroying Telangana on all fronts in its ten-year rule.
‘Don’t listen to BRS hollow promises’
Priyanka said that the Congress is sure that the BRS would not fulfil the dreams of the people even if it was given power for another term. People voted BRS to power as they had earlier believed in its hollow promises, she said.
She urged the unemployed youth to vote out BRS and elect Congress to secure jobs. She criticised KCR for ignoring the provision of jobs to youth, even as providing jobs to all in his family.
Senior Congress leaders Bhatti Vikramarka, Thummala Nageswar Rao and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Congress nominees in Madhira, Khammam and Paleru accompanied her in the road shows.
