Vijayawada: A software professional, Surender Babu, who was kidnapped from the Raidurgam area in Hyderabad, Telangana, a few days ago, was found in Nallamala forest under Atmakur mandal in Nandyala district of Rayalaseema region, Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday.

The police led by DSP Atmakur A Srinivasa Rao said that acting on a confirmed lead about Surender Babu being taken to Nallamala forest from Hyderabad in a car, the forest and police departments set up a vehicle check post near Bairluty to rescue the kidnapped person.
Soon, on Saturday, the police intercepted a car in which Surendar Babu was being taken. When Surender saw the police, he shouted for help. Suspecting that they had been found, the kidnappers ran into the forest and disappeared, the police said.
The victim managed to contact Raidurgam police and told them about his whereabouts. The Raidurgam police reached Atmakuru and rescued him.
The police said that Surender Babu is a native of KPHB Colony in Hyderabad and lives with his family. He was kidnapped by some unidentified persons on Thursday. Surender was stalked by the person in a car and kidnapped when he stopped the vehicle near a petrol station.
After the kidnappers’ phone call, Babu’s wife complained to the police in Raidurgam. Prioritising the case, the Telangana police formed six teams to nab the kidnappers and rescue the techie. The police said that they are yet to ascertain the exact motive behind the kidnap. The investigation is on to nab the accused persons, they added.
