Hyderabad: Telangana High Court has sought an explanation from the state over the alleged illegal encroachment of two acres of government land in Hyderguda, Rajendranagar.

Notices to Revenue and GHMC officials

A division bench of acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice Renuka Yara on Monday issued notices to the Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department, District Collector of Ranga Reddy, GHMC Commissioner, Rajendranagar RDO, and Tahsildar. The court directed them to file their counter-affidavits within two weeks.

Petitioner alleges officials ignored complaints

The court was hearing a Public Interest Litigation filed by the Erraboda Weaker Section Colony Welfare Association, represented by its President P. Sridhar Reddy. The petitioner’s counsel informed the bench that repeated representations to the District Collector about the illegal constructions went unanswered.

Miscreants raising sheds to grab land

The petitioner alleged that miscreants were raising large sheds on the two acres of government land with the intention of grabbing it illegally. He also informed the court about another encroachment attempt on 1,200 square yards within the same survey number using forged documents, where a compound wall and room had already been built despite complaints to revenue officials.

Plea to protect the entire 200 Acres

The PIL sought directions to protect the entire extent of 200 acres of government land in Survey No.7 of Upperpally, Hyderguda, Rajendranagar Mandal, Ranga Reddy District from illegal encroachments.

Hearing Adjourned

The bench adjourned the matter for two weeks, directing the State to submit its counter.
