Rappelling to ziplining: Hyderabad all set to host Rockathon on Sunday

Hyderabad: Save the Rock Society in collaboration with the Great Hyderabad Adventure Club (GHAC) is gearing up for the 10th edition of the Hyderabad Rockathon on February 11, at Forestrek Park, Narsingi.

This event promises a day of adventure, fitness challenges, and fun, providing a unique opportunity to explore the Deccan Rocks.

Jointly organized by the Society to Save Rocks and GHAC, with support from the Telangana State Forest Department Corporation (TSFDC) and Telangana Tourism, the Rockathon aims to create awareness about the importance of rocks and their role in the environment. The event caters to all age groups, offering a family-friendly outdoor experience.

Adventure and Environmental Education:

The Rockathon features a range of activities that are both thrilling and educative. Adrenaline enthusiasts can participate in rappelling, ziplining, rock climbing, and guided walks, ensuring all safety precautions are in place. For those inclined towards physical challenges, there's a rock shot put, and for those seeking tranquility, rock balancing provides a calming experience.

The program is designed not just for adventure seekers but also to impart knowledge about the ecological significance of rocks. An informative rock quiz and a snake awareness program are included to fascinate and educate participants about the environment.
