Hyderabad: In a horrifying incident in Telangana, an eight-year-old boy was bitten by a rat while he was eating with his parents at the famed restaurant chain McDonald’s. The incident allegedly occurred at the SPG Hotel in Kompally.

The boy’s father, Savio H, filed a complaint on March 9th in which he said that on March 8th, around 10.40 p.m., he along with his wife and son went to McDonald’s Kompally for dinner. While eating their food, they saw a rat scurrying out of the restroom and into the restaurant’s seating area. The rat crept up the boy’s shorts, and his father jumped to his rescue, removing the vermin and throwing it away.

The incident was also captured on the restaurant’s CCTV cameras. The CCTV footage clearly shows that none of the McDonald’s employees were fazed by the presence of the rat.

Immediately after the incident, the boy’s parents took him to a hospital in Bowenpally where he received tetanus and anti-rabies shots.

The family has filed a lawsuit, alleging that the boy has two flesh cuts on his left leg. The child will receive two more rabies shots during the next three days.

The boy’s father, an Army officer, accused the restaurant management of incompetence and of doing nothing following the incident. He tweeted on the incident.

The GHMC assistant food controller replied to the tweet and said, “The Concerned Food Safety Officer inspected the premises and a report has been submitted for further action.” He attached pictures to show the same.
