Hyderabad: The Formula E race in India will be held on 10 and 11 February 2023 at Necklace Road, Hyderabad. Ahead of that, Hyderabad e-Mobility Week will be organised from 6 to 11 February to showcase the electric vehicle models of the state.

TRS working president and industries minister K.T Rama Rao said the Formula E event will be held on 2.8 km stretch of Necklace Road where the infrastructure will be upgraded. The races will be held for three consecutive years in Hyderabad.

"It is the effort of my team members and those from the department of energy minister G. Jagadish Reddy who have come together and made this happen. This feat is an achievement for India," said KTR.




There will be spectator galleries around Necklace Road for people to watch the race which will be televised and watched the world over.

Hyderabad joins the list of E-Prix host cities after New York, London, Berlin, Seoul, Monaco, and Rome. The event will see 22 drivers from 11 teams fight it around Necklace Road.

The Formula E event will be promoted in major cities of India like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, and Kolkata, and people from across the country are expected to come to watch the show.

e-Mobility Week

With the grand Formula E event, the state is also going to showcase their achievements in Electric Vehicles by organising Hyderabad e-Mobility Week from 6 to 11 February 2023. During this week, there will be an EV Summit, the Rall-E Hyderabad, and Hyderabad E- Motor Show.

The TS policy on electric vehicles was launched in 2020 and has attracted investments from key EV companies such as Fisker, Olectra, Hyundai, Biliti Electric, and ZF Group.

Industries Minister K.T Rama Rao along with energy minister G. Jagadish Reddy formally launched the Hyderabad e-Mobility Week portal and unveiled the logo at Pragathi Bhavan on 7 October.

"This is going to be a monumental week for Hyderabad and India. The Hyderabad E-Prix will be one of the largest global events ever hosted in the state. The state government is bringing global EV leaders to Telangana. This event will provide fresh dynamism to the state and India," said KTR.

The Hyderabad e-Mobility Week will be one of the largest global platforms for EV companies and ancillary businesses in the world to showcase their latest technologies, products, and services that will shape the future of green mobility and will enrich the growing EV ecosystem of the state, said Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary, ITE&C, and industries and commerce departments.

The events being conducted as part of this week will provide opportunities to interact with the best in the industry and potentially attract more investments to the state, he added.

Planned events

February 6 ā€“ Hyderabad EV Summit will be held at Hyderabad International Convention Centre and will see global leaders, eminent academics, and policy makers discuss aspects related to the future of sustainable mobility.

February 7 ā€“ Rall-E Hyderabad, a first-of-its-kind EV bike rally, will witness thousands of bikers, male and female, riding their electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers across the city. The rally will culminate at Hitex Exhibition Centre, Madhapur.

February 8 and 9 ā€“ Hyderabad E-Motor Show will be held at Hitex Exhibition Centre. At this first-of-its-kind event, the Hyderabad E-Motor Show will host the world's EV manufacturers (2W, 3W, 4W, Commercial EVs, etc.,), energy storage companies, charging infrastructure and EV components manufacturers, and start-ups across these segments.

The exhibitors will display their products in an area spread over 10,500 sq. mtrs.

February 10 and 11 ā€“ The much-awaited Hyderabad E-Prix, the first-ever Formula E race in India, will take place over two days on February 10 and 11 at Necklace Road. With this event, Hyderabad will join the prestigious list of E-Prix host cities such as New York, London, Berlin, Seoul, Monaco, and Rome. The event will see 22 drivers from 11 teams fight it out for victory around the Hyderabad Street Circuit.
