Repairs at Rajendranagar, Attapur to disrupt Hyderabad water supply on Monday
Hyderabad: Several parts of Hyderabad will face disruption in drinking water supply for 20 hours as the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) undertakes urgent repair and maintenance works under the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project (KDWSP) Phase–III.
Pipeline leak repairs near PVNR Expressway
Officials said a major leakage has been detected on the 1,400 mm dia pipeline near PVNR Expressway at Rajendranagar.
In addition, a 300 mm dia scour valve extension pipe at Attapur Musi bridge will be repaired. At the same time, defunct valves at the Mailardevpally Phase–III pump house will be replaced.
Shutdown schedule
The shutdown will commence at 11 am on Monday, September 1 and continue until 7 am on Tuesday, September 2. In total, the repair works will require 20 hours, during which the water supply will be affected.
Areas affected
Water supply will be disrupted in localities served under KDWSP Phase–III Ring Main–1, including:
O&M Division No. 3: Areas under Shaikpet Reservoir
O&M Division No. 6: Jubilee Hills, Filmnagar, Prashasan Nagar, Tattikhana Reservoir zone
O&M Division No. 15: Gachibowli, Madhapur, Ayyappa Society, Kavuri Hills Reservoir zone
Consumer advisory
The HMWSSB has urged residents in the affected areas to store adequate water in advance and use it judiciously during the shutdown period.
