Reprimanded for playing games on her mobile phone, 17YO student ends life in Hyderabad

A 17-year-old girl died by suicide reportedly after her father scolded her for playing games on her mobile phone. The incident took place in the Sarvodaya Nagar area of the city on Sunday night.

Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl died by suicide reportedly after her father scolded her for playing games on her mobile phone. The incident took place in the Sarvodaya Nagar area of the city on Sunday night.

A circle inspector of Meerpet police station told NewsMeter, "She was playing games on her phone in front of her father. He scolded her after which she killed herself."

The parents found her body in her room on Monday morning and called the Meerpet police. They registered a case and started an investigation.

The victim was an intermediate second-year student in Sri Chaitanya Junior College. She was preparing for her first-year exam.
