Revanth Reddy sets August 15 deadline to roll out farm loan waiver scheme

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has set August 15 deadline to roll out the farm loan waiver scheme.
Chief Minister held a review on loan waiver and other issues with top officials of the Agriculture and Cooperation Department on Monday.
The CM asked the officials to prepare plans to implement the farm loan waiver as part of fulfilling the promise made during the Assembly elections. The officials have been asked to prepare a list of the farmers who took loans up to Rs 2 lakh.
Revanth Reddy said that the details of the farmers should be collected from the bankers and identify the eligible ones only.
The CM suggested to the officials to take precautions to avoid any problems regarding the cut-off date. The details of the farmers who have taken crop loans from PACS (Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies) should be made available before the implementation of the loan waiver scheme.
The officials have been advised to prepare the estimation of required funds along with complete details of the farmers to waive the loans up to Rs 2 lakh.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to come up with a clear plan and formulate the procedures regarding the implementation of loan waivers.
The Chief Minister instructed the officials that the crop loan should be waived off by August 15. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Adviser to the Chief Minister Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, and other top officials participated in the review meeting.
