RO plant explosion at Jalavihar in Hyderabad leaves 3 injured, 2 critical
Hyderabad: A powerful explosion at a water purification (RO) plant in Jalavihar on PVNR Marg created panic on Wednesday morning, leaving three workers injured, two of them critically.
Blast at water supply unit
The explosion occurred at an RO (Reverse Osmosis) plant that supplies drinking water in the area. The impact of the blast was so intense that several pieces of equipment inside the unit were shattered.
Pressure build-up is suspected cause
According to preliminary findings, police suspect that excessive pressure inside the RO filter or compressor may have triggered the explosion. However, the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.
Workers sustain severe injuries
Three staff members working at the plant were injured in the incident. Among them, Appulu Naidu and Anji sustained severe injuries and are reported to be in critical condition. Laxman, another worker, also suffered injuries.
The injured were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals by co-workers. Appulu Naidu and Anji were shifted to Gandhi Hospital, while Laxman was admitted to Joy Hospital in Somajiguda for treatment.
Police launch investigation
Police teams rushed to the spot soon after the incident and registered a case. Khairatabad ACP Sanjay, along with Lake Police, inspected the site and began collecting details.
A detailed investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
