Hyderabad: The Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) has arrested Sandeep Kumar, the key accused and operations head of Capital Protection Force Pvt. Ltd., involved in the massive Falcon Invoice Discounting scam.
The arrest was made on June 3 in Hyderabad, along with his accomplice Ravi Kumar, marking a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into one of Indiaās largest financial frauds. This follows the earlier apprehension of seven accused individuals linked to the case.
4,065 victims cheated of Rs 792 crore
The Falcon scam involved the fraudulent collection of approximately Rs 4,215 crore from 7,056 depositors through an online platform called Falcon Invoice Discounting Application (www.falconsgrup.com).
The accused created fake investment deals under the guise of reputed multinational companies, promising high interest rates on short-term plans to lure investors.
Initial investigations estimate that around 4,065 victims were cheated to the tune of Rs 792 crore. The scam involved criminal offences including Criminal Breach of Trust, Cheating, and Criminal Conspiracy.
Accused named in eight cases across six States
Following complaints by victims, three major cases were registered at the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Police Station, Cyberabad: Cr.No. 10/2025, Cr.No. 11/2025 and Cr.No. 12/2025. These cases were filed under Sections 316(2), 318(4), 61(2) of the BNS, and Section 5 of the TSPDEF Act, 1999. Subsequently, the cases were transferred to CID Telangana on March 6 for further investigation.
Additionally, eight more cases have been filed across six StatesāKarnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Delhiāagainst the accused company and its directors.
Accused fled country, came back illegally through the Nepal-India border
Sandeep Kumar (37), operations head and younger brother of Amardeep Kumar (chairman and managing director), had fled to Dubai shortly after the scam came to light. He illegally re-entered India through the Nepal-India border and resettled with family members in Danapur, Patna.
When the CID team raided Bihar, Sandeep escaped, but his father and wife were arrested. He then moved between Odisha, Goa, and finally Hyderabad, where he was sheltered by his accomplice Ravi Kumar (26), an electrician by profession. Based on credible intelligence, CID arrested both in Hyderabad on June 3.
Mercedes-Benz, Range Rover among assets seized
During the arrest, CID seized luxury assets and incriminating documents from the accused, including, Mercedes Benz GLS 400d, Range Rover Velar, Toyota Innova Crysta 2.4 G (All vehicles worth approximately Rs 2.5 crore), 14 property documents valued at around Rs 10 crore, three mobile phones and various ID cards and cash
Accused diverted Rs 84.5 crores of investorsā money
The accused company, Capital Protection Force, developed and promoted the Falcon Invoice Discounting platform through aggressive advertising on social media platforms such as Google, YouTube and Instagram. Tele-callers contacted potential investors with fabricated deals involving well-known multinational corporations.
Investors were issued fake invoice receipts and agreements, leading to massive deposits.
Sandeep Kumar, along with other accused, including his brother Amardeep Kumar and CEO Yogendra Singh, orchestrated the scam. Sandeep is also accused of diverting over Rs 84.5 crores to personal and related company accounts before fleeing the country.
Public advisory
The CID has cautioned the public against investing in Ponzi or online schemes promising unrealistic returns. The department urges people to verify credentials before investing and warns that stringent legal action will be taken against operators and facilitators of such fraudulent schemes.
