SafeRideChallenge: Hyderabad CP Sajjanar kicks off social media campaign for road safety

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar on Monday launched a social media initiative designed to make road safety a viral trend among commuters.

#SafeRideChallenge is aimed at transforming road safety compliance into a visible, community-driven movement, encouraging young commuters to lead by example.

Making safety a social trend

The campaign asks motorists to record a short video or take a photo before starting their journey, showing themselves wearing helmets or fastening seat belts.

Participants are then encouraged to tag three friends or family members to take up the challenge, creating a chain of awareness across social media platforms.

“Safety never goes out of style. Every ride begins with a choice to protect yourself and those you love,” said Mr. Sajjanar. “Together, we can make safety the coolest trend of 2025.”

Three simple steps to Safer Roads

The initiative focuses on three key actions before every ride: fasten your seat belt, wear a helmet, and inspire others to adopt these habits by tagging them online.

By combining digital participation with practical road safety measures, the police aim to instill a culture of accountability and responsibility among motorists.

Digital outreach for Greater Impact

Hyderabad Police have increasingly turned to social media for public awareness campaigns, blending creativity with civic responsibility.
