Justice Surepally Nanda was hearing the writ petition filed by Mohammad Waheed, President of Kula Nirmulana Sangha and a resident of Peerzadiguda, Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
The petitioner prayed for declaring the governmentās action illegal for not creating a column to record and enumerate the people who are opting voluntarily for an identity of NRNC. Justice Surepally Nanda invokes Article 25 (1) of the Constitution of India which includes freedom of an individual.
Justice Nanda directed the government to consider the petitioner's request about enumerating/recording people with NRNC, duly considering Article 25 (1) of the Constitution of India.
The Court issued notices to the Principal Secretaries to the Government GAD, Social Welfare Department, BC Welfare Department, and the Member Secretary, TG Commission for Backward Classes, and directed them to respond by December 4.
Further, by law because empirical inquiry is scheduled to be conducted by the respondent Government from November 6 onwards and communicate the decision to the petitioners.
The matter was adjourned to December 4.
