Hyderabad: Parasuram, the director of Mahesh Babu's Sarkaru Vaari Paata, is happy about the excitement and hysteria around his movie. The director spoke to the media ahead of the release and here are excerpts from our interaction with him.
The title looks very interesting. What is the idea behind it?
I began working on the film's story when I was directing Geetha Govindam. I decided then to name the film Sarkaru Vaari Pata. I can't reveal how a title about public auctions held by the government is related to the lead character. But it is going to be a fun watch.
Mahesh Babu looks young and has a different look in this film. Can you throw some light on his role?
Mahesh underwent a makeover for the film, and his fans are going to go gaga over his appearance. His makeover, especially the tattoo on his neck, is part of his character. The main reason for the project to happen is that Mahesh liked his character design in the film as much as its story.
The trailer has all the elements of a commercial movie that promises to be entertaining.
Yes, the movie is an out and out commercial entertainer. Mahesh Babu's looks and presentation will be of the next level. People have doubts about Mahesh giving chance to a medium-range director like me - even after Geetha Govindam was such a huge hit. But I am sure they are going to be happy after watching the film. The dialogues in the trailer reflect the essence of the story. A story that takes place between people with two different personalities.
What are you planning for the love track?
It would be awesome, lovely and lively. Keerthy Suresh's role in the movie is one with a strong personality and her character is crucial to the story.
Can you tell us a little more about Keerthy Suresh's role in the film? How will this film be for her since she hasn't done any commercial films recently?
The story was finalised before the lockdown. I had no options for the role, other than Keerthy. After watching the movie, everyone will understand why we chose Keerthy as the heroine for the movie. After the film's release, people will discuss Keerthy as much as they will talk about Mahesh Babu's role.
Did you follow any pattern for the songs in the film?
I do not follow any patterns. All songs are backed by specific situations in the film that warrant a song. Sarkaru Vaari Paata has wonderful moments where the songs fit perfectly. I am also particular about the tune and the lyrics and made sure all the songs are awesome to listen to and hum to.
Was the 'Nenu Vinnanu... Nenu Unnanu' dialogue inspired by the life of late Chief Minister Rajasekhar Reddy?
I'm a fan of late YSR garu. YS Jagan garu is continuing his legacy now. 'Nenu Vinnanu… Nenu Unnanu' is a perfect line for a specific scene in our film. I told the dialogue to Mahesh in the first sitting and he did not have any problem including it since there is no political connection to the story.
