Secretariat to Yadadri temple: 5 Telangana buildings win 'International Green Apple awards'

Telangana: Five Telangana government properties have been awarded the 'International Green Apple Awards for Beautiful Buildings'.

The buildings were selected under the Urban and Real Estate sector category by London based--Green Organisation.

The award ceremony, to be held in London on June 16, will be attended by Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar.

Here is the list:

1. Mozzam-Jahi Market (in the Heritage category – for the excellent restoration and reuse)

2. Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge (in the Bridge category for the unique design)

3. B R Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat Building (in the aesthetically designed Office/workspace building category)

4. Integrated Command Control Centre of Telangana Police (in the unique Office category)

5. Yadadri temple (abode of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy (in the excellent Religious structures category)

It is for the very first time that any buildings/structures from India are being awarded the prestigious Green Apple awards and Telangana gets the honor of receiving all five awards.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his happiness for bagging international awards.

Established in 1994 in London, Green Organisation is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing, rewarding, and promoting environmental best practices around the world.
