Hyderabad: A 23-year-old woman, employed as a security guard and a native of West Bengal, has lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police, alleging sexual harassment by an Uber bike rider. The incident occurred late Sunday night when she was returning home from work.

According to the Banjara Hills police, the woman had just finished her security duty at PVR Cinema in Eramanzil and booked an Uber Bike at around 11:35 pm to travel to her residence near Sanath Nagar. The Uber rider, identified as Rakesh, arrived at the location to pick her up. However, during the ride, the rider allegedly began to misbehave with her. The woman reported that he touched her inappropriately and showed her explicit videos on his phone.

The situation escalated as they approached her home. Disturbed by the riderā€™s actions, the woman began shouting for help. The rider stopped the bike and she quickly dismounted. Her cries for help drew the attention of nearby residents who came to assist her. The Uber rider fled the scene on his bike without collecting the fare.

The Banjara Hills police have registered a case based on the womanā€™s complaint on Monday and are currently investigating the matter. The police are working to track down the suspect and bring him to justice.
