Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has issued a notice to Hyderabad Integrated MSW Limited (Ramky) for delays and lapses in garbage clearance across the city.

Significant delays in Garbage Clearance

GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan noted during a review on October 16, it was revealed that only 1,879 out of 2,532 Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs) and bin points were cleared by the stipulated deadline of 10:30 am. The shortfall indicates serious inefficiencies in the agency’s operations.

Secondary bin installation lagging

According to the agreement, Ramky was responsible for installing 2,000 secondary storage bins across the city. However, only 850 bins have been installed so far. The Commissioner has instructed the agency to complete the remaining installations without further delay.

Strict action on Non-Compliance

Commissioner Karnan warned that continued failure to adhere to GHMC directives would result in heavy penalties and other stringent actions as per the contract. He emphasized that ensuring effective waste management and minimizing public inconvenience remain top priorities for the civic body.
