Six get life imprisonment for gang rape
Six persons were given life imprisonment and fined Rs 20,000 each in a gang rape case by a court at LB Nagar on Monday.

The convicted are Shaik Showkath, 35, Mohd. Khalid alias Abbu, 22, Mohd. Afroz alias Lal, 20, Abdul Salman Khan alias Rider, 20, Shaik Salman, 22, Mujahid Khan alias Sharooq, 20. There is also a case pending against one Juvenile-in-Conflict (JCL) involved in the crime and the trial is pending at the juvenile court, LB Nagar.
The incident occurred on January 19, 2019, near the Hafeezpet Railway station and was reported to the Miyapur police the next day. The complainant and victim belong to the same locality and were working in the same company. Both of them were returning from Calvary temple at Miyapur around 7 pm when they were ambushed by the six who were consuming alcohol in the bushes nearby. They overpowered the complainant and committed the crime. The Miyapur police officials had investigated the case and presented details that led to the conviction of the accused.
