Smart classrooms: Bowenpally’s Tribal Welfare Ashram School gets digital makeover
The digital infrastructure includes computer systems, projectors, routers, and audio speakers
By Newsmeter Network Published on 4 April 2023 3:30 AM GMTHyderabad: The Government Tribal Welfare Ashram School for Boys at Bowenpally, Hyderabad has received a digital transformation with the installation of digital classrooms. The digital classrooms were inaugurated on Monday by Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary of industries and commerce, and Dr. Christina Z. Chongthu, commissioner and secretary of the tribal welfare department.
The digital classrooms were sponsored by Solera/Smart Drive India Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Telangana Social Impact Group (T-SIG) as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) charter. The digital infrastructure includes computer systems, projectors, routers, and audio speakers. The teachers in both the Tribal Welfare Boys and Girls Schools were also given training in the latest teaching methodologies in March 2023 through India Literacy Project (ILP).
Speaking on the occasion, Jayesh Ranjan said the digital infrastructure will cater to the educational needs of children to promote holistic development. Dr. Christina Z. Chongthu expressed her gratitude to Solera for enhancing the educational experience of 370 students through the provision of this digital infrastructure.
Darshana Banthia, head (finance) of Solera/Smart Drive India Pvt. Ltd., expressed happiness that her organisation was making a difference to the education of over 370 boys and girls (of classes 5 to 9).
The project was brought together by T-SIG, Telangana’s official CSR cell that offers pro-bono service in connecting corporate India with various state departments to pursue their United Nations (UN) SDGs/Sustainable Development Goals.
The school headmaster, Banothu Lalu, gave special thanks to T-SIG and Solera/Smart Drive for sponsoring the digital classrooms. The students, too, are excited to enhance their knowledge through this digital learning system.
The overall project cost in both the Ashram schools came to Rs. 27 lakhs. Digital classrooms are expected to provide children with access to the latest learning technologies and provide a better educational experience.
