Hyderabad: In an effort to ease traffic at Bahadurpura junction, the Bahadurpura flyover inaugurated by MAUD minister K.T Rama Rao on 19 April. The flyover is constructed by GHMC under the Strategic Road Development Plan.
The 690 m long, six-lane flyover will bring much-needed relief to commuters travelling via the busy Bahadurpura junction. People visiting the Nehru Zoological Park are also expected to benefit from the flyover.
The flyover will ensure smooth travel, reduced commute time, and decrease pollution due to reduced waiting or travel time at the junction.
This is the first time that the technology used in the construction of the substructure (the vertical portion that supports the entire structure on the given surrounding soil) of the flyover is being used in India. Precast (cast into final shape and then placed at the final position) and post-tensioned (to reinforce concrete) technology is adopted in major elements of the substructure.
Mild Steel (MS) handrailing, LED lighting, and anti-carbonate painting are other attractions of the flyover.
