Speedy BMW hits Musheerabad police inspector near Tank Bund; injured

Hyderabad: A police inspector was injured after a speedy BMW hit him near Tank Bund late on Sunday night.
E. Jahangeer Yadav of Musheerabad police was on night duty when the incident occurred. He was trying to disperse a crowd when he was hit by the car.
Gandhinagar Police Station Station House Officer N Mohan Rao said Yadav got down from the patrol vehicle after noticing the crowd near Lepakshi.
A BMW driven by Mir Osman All Khan, a used car dealer of Asif Nagar, did not notice the inspector and hit him from behind. The driver was not under the influence of alcohol.
According to police the man was traveling from Adilabad after attending a wedding and had dozed off. Yadav suffered injuries on his head, shoulder, and left leg. On Monday he was discharged from the hospital.
A case has been registered under section 137 of IPC. The accused has been taken into custody.
