Hyderabad: In view of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals scheduled at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, the Rachakonda Police have issued a traffic advisory restricting the movement of heavy vehicles on May 5.
Heavy Vehicle Restrictions from 4 PM to 11:50 PM
To ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety around the stadium during the match hours, restrictions will be in effect from 4:00 pm to 11:50 pm. These curbs apply to lorries, dumpers, earth movers, water tankers, ready-mix concrete (RMC) trucks, and other heavy vehicles.
Traffic Diversions Announced
The following diversions will be implemented on the day of the match:
Ramanthapur to Uppal: Vehicles will be diverted via Street No. 8 to Uppal X Road.
ChengicherlaāBoduppalāPeerzadiguda to Uppal: Traffic will be diverted opposite the Toyota Showroom via HMDA Bhagyanagar Road towards Nagole.
LB Nagar to Nagole/Uppal: Vehicles will be diverted at the U-turn under Nagole Metro Station towards HMDA Layout, Boduppal, and Chengicherla X Road.
Tarnaka to Uppal: Diversion begins at Habsiguda X Road, rerouting vehicles via Nacharam, IOCL Cherlapally, Street No. 8, and the Metro Pillar 972 U-turn to Uppal X Road.
Public Urged to Cooperate
The Rachakonda Police have appealed to commuters to take note of these restrictions and plan their travel accordingly.
The department has also advised match-goers to use public transportation where possible and follow directions from on-ground traffic personnel.
