State government appoints A Sudarshan Reddy as Telangana State advocate general

By Newsmeter Network Published on 31 Dec 2023 3:35 PM ISTHyderabad: The Telangana Government has appointed senior advocate A Sudarshan Reddy as the Stateās advocate general (AG), as per the orders issued by the law secretary and approved by governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan.
A Sudarshan Reddy hails from Rachapalli village in Sarangapur mandal of Jagtial district. He studied at St Paulās School, graduated from Nizam College, and got his law degree from Osmania University.
Sudarshan Reddy, who was born on May 25, 1959, started his legal career on October 22, 1985, after completing his law degree. He was a classmate of former chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy at Nizam College.
After the TRS (now BRS) government took office in Telangana on June 2, 2014, Reddy stepped down from his position. Following the Congressā win in the recently held State Assembly elections, ministers and senior leaders decided to appoint Reddy as the AG due to his experience.
Reddy served as the AG of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh from January 17, 2011, to June 3, 2014. He was the first Telangana-origin AG to serve in that position in United AP. He also served as the AG for AP and Telangana during the Presidentās Rule in 2014, during the demarcation of the State.
Sudarshan Reddy enrolled as an advocate in 1985 and practiced law in various courts, including the high courts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, city civil courts, Rangareddy courts, and other courts.
