Student, 4 others, held for killing bouncer in drunken hit-and-run in Jubilee Hills

By Newsmeter Network Published on 25 Jan 2024 10:34 AM GMTHyderabad: A 21-year-old student along with four others was arrested in the hit-and-run case in Hyderabad that allegedly killed a 30-year-old bouncer Lingala Tarakram and severely injured his colleague, Raju.
The incident took place at the intersection of Jubilee Hills Road No 36/10 on Wednesday early morning hours.
The main accused are K Ruthvik Reddy (21), a student who was driving the car, Vabhnavi (23), Lokeshwar Rao (21), Abhilash (20) and Aniketh (22). Another accused Suresh Reddy is absconding.
According to the Jubilee Hills police, on January 24 at around 5 am, Ruthvik Reddy driving a Hyundai Verna car dangerously hit Tarakramās bike. He was under the influence of alcohol when he was driving.
The impact of the collision propelled both Tarakram and Raju approximately 20 feet into the air before they landed about 100 meters from the intersection. While Tarakram succumbed to severe head injuries on the spot, Raju was rushed to the hospital by the locals.
After the accident, all the accused approached Suresh Reddy and narrated the incident. Instead of reporting to the police, Suresh dropped the accused at their houses. The main accused was arrested at Maithrivanam in Ameerpet, SR Nagar. The vehicle and other incriminating materials were seized from the accused persons.
As per the RC of the vehicle, the owner is Naga Charan Reddy, the brother-in-law of the main accused. The accused persons are being produced before the court for judicial remand.
