Hyderabad: A dispute stemming from a Facebook post left one student dead on Thursday night at Anuwar-Ul-Quran madrasa in Puppalguda under Narsingi police station limits.

According to the Narsingi police, Md Nazeemul Haq, a 63-year-old teacher at the madrasa, filed a complaint that Mohd Siraj, a 17-year-old student from Islampur village in Bihar, posted a photo on his Facebook page featuring his fellow students from the madrasa. The post, accompanied by a Hindi song, was deemed disrespectful by some.

Upon learning about the post, another student, Mohammed Raqeem (17), engaged in a heated argument with Mohd Siraj. The confrontation escalated, leading to Siraj physically assaulting Raqeem. Siraj reportedly punched and attacked Raqeem, causing injuries to his neck and face. Subsequently, Raqeem was rushed to Golconda Area Hospital, where he was declared dead by the duty doctor.
