Students Islamic Organisation of India to hold 2-day conference in Hyd

Hyderabad: The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) Telangana launched its two-day state conference here at a press meet on Thursday. The conference poster was released by Maulana Hamid Muhammad Khan Sahib, president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Telangana.

As SIO completes 40 years this year, various activities have been planned across the country, through which efforts are being made to reach more people at the grassroot level. In this regard, different activities and conferences are also being organised in different districts and cities of Telangana. As part of this, a two-day grand conference titled "Igniting change – A journey towards social reconstruction through Enlightenment, Engagement, Empowerment" is going to be held in Hyderabad from 22-23 October.

Inviting all students and youth from across the state, Dr. Talha Faiyazuddin said, "Such student and youth conferences are a means of sensitising the youth, and to present their voice in efforts to better the socio-political and educational conditions of our society. Such opportunities will surely provide ignition of constructive change."

Hamid Muhammad Khan, state president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Telangana, said SIO, since its formation, has continuously worked on the issues of students. He further said that SIO is focusing on capacity-building of students in various fields, especially education, politics, and entrepreneurship. This conference is also a part of this objective, he added. On the first day of the two-day conference, there will be an expo of models, crafts, and charts portraying several issues and solutions pertaining to subjects like society, politics, education, morality, and spirituality, to mention a few. Besides, there will also be various professional and interactive sessions in which students will be guided by various experts and academicians.

On the second day of the conference, there will be public sessions in which prominent speakers will express their views on various issues at different sessions throughout the day. Different competitions will also be organised at the conference to develop the skills of students and youth. These competitions will be held in various educational institutions of Hyderabad.
