Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad said parts of the city will receive rains for nearly two to three hours on Sunday afternoon. The rains will also be accompanied by thunderstorms.
An official from IMD, Hyderabad, said, "The rains, part of the summer showers, are coming from Sangareddy district to the west and it will shower in parts of Hyderabad and Medchal Malkajgiri."
The official also said that due to the rain, temperatures will drop but it will increase again in the latter part of the evening. However, the humidity will increase because of the rains.
Raj, a weather enthusiast in the city, tweeted, "27 March, 2:10 pm. Dark clouds started forming around North West Hyderabad. Rains are possible very soon in West Hyderabad."
According to the Telangana State Development and Planning Society's daily rainfall update, Shankarampet in Medak received the highest rainfall of 0.7 mm in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, temperatures in the state are also rapidly increasing. In the last 24 hours, Nizamabad north saw the state's highest maximum temperature of 40.5Ā°Celsius. In Hyderabad, the highest maximum temperature of 38.9Ā°Celsius was recorded in Asmanghat, Saidabad.
