Hyderabad: Actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth, who was shooting in Hyderabad the last 10 days for 'Annaatthe' was admitted in Apollo hospitals, Jubilee Hills. The health complaint is said to be severe fluctuations in his blood pressure. He tested negative for COVID-19 on 22 December. The doctors at the private hospital are keenly monitoring his situation.

The movie shoot was put on hold as four crew members tested positive. Although he is not showing any symptoms of COVID-19, he seems to be suffering from severe blood pressure fluctuations and fatigue.

The hospital authorities released the following statement:

"Rajinikanth has been admitted in the hospital on Friday morning. He had been shooting for a movie in Hyderabad for 10 days. A couple of people on the sets tested positive for COVID-19. Rajinikanth was tested on 22 December for COVID-19 and he was negative. From the time of the test, he has isolated himself and was being monitored closely," the statement read.

"Though he did not have any symptoms of COVID-19, his blood pressure showed severe fluctuations and needed further evaluation for which he has been admitted. He will be investigated and monitored closely till his blood pressure settles down before being discharged. Apart from fluctuating blood pressure and exhaustion, he does not have any other symptoms and is hemodynamically stable," the statement read.
