Swanky terminal to boarding passes: Hyderabad set to get first airplane restaurant

Hyderabad is set to get its first airplane restaurant early next year.

Famous Hyderabad eatery Pista House bought an old plane at a Kerala auction and is transporting it to Hyderabad.

The plane, which is being transported in parts, will be reassembled near Shamirpet, where the eatery already has a branch. The empty plot nearby is being readied to transform the place so that it gives the perfect experience of an airport.

According to the plan, they will have seating inside the plane, while the kitchen will be at the already present restaurant. Adding the final touches to elevate the customer experience, the Pista House team will set up a terminal and give boarding tickets.

Pista House owner Abdul Majeed said the work on it has already started, and they plan to start the restaurant by republic day next year.

While transporting the plane from Cochin, Kerala, to Hyderabad via road, it got stuck at an underpass in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh. The Medarmetla police later helped the plane pull out of the underpass.

Pista House is well known for its Haleem during the holy Ramzan month. They began their business in the restaurant industry in 1997, opening their first hotel in Shalibanda. They currently have 32 branches in the city.

Though such airplane-themed restaurants are already present in India, they will be the first ones in Hyderabad.
