Amaravati: Expressing serious concern over the health condition of the former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, TDP national spokesman Kommareddy Pattabhiram, on Friday, declared that his party is taking legal recourse to shift Naidu to either a super speciality or a government hospital to ensure Naidu is provided with all medical facilities as needed.

Addressing the media virtually, Pattabhiram said that Naidu’s worsening health condition puts him at high risk inside the jail. He also said that the jail authorities are not giving Naidu optimal care regarding health problems.

“On one side Naidu is suffering from dehydration and on the other he is developing a severe skin allergy. The medical treatment provided to him inside the jail is not at all satisfactory,” Pattabhiram said.

Medicines and drinking water are sub-standard

Maintaining that the TDP has been expressing doubts, since the beginning, on the prevailing conditions inside the jail, Pattabhiram said that after the latest health bulletin, not only his family but also the state and the world, are expressing serious concern over Chandrababu’s health condition.

On Friday, Naidu’s family members met him and after coming from the jail said that they are worried about his health issues, Pattabhiram said. “The kind of medicines being given to Chandrababu, the quality of drinking water and other issues are causing serious concern, he said.

Attempts to harm him deliberately

If a similar situation continues for another couple of days, Naidu will get kidney problems and other serious ailments affecting his organs, he said. Pattabhiram felt that deliberate attempts were being made to make Naidu ill deliberately.

“Not only the safety and security of our leader is under threat, but his health condition is also causing a serious concern for all of us. Thus, we demand that the team of doctors, who have been treating him for the past two to three decades, be allowed to treat him inside the jail till he is shifted to a super-speciality hospital or a government hospital. We will be approaching the court on this,” Pattabhi stated.

Request for Naidu’s doctor to enter premises

Demanding that a health assessment committee be formed to check the condition of Chandrababu regularly, considering his VVIP status, being a national-level leader and former chief minister, Pattabhi demanded the Jagan Reddy government and the prison authorities respond to it immediately. “Why are Chandrababu’s personal doctors not allowed to visit him?” he asked.

Why are doctors not providing Chandrababu an actual picture of the health condition of the TDP national spokesman asked and felt that the health bulletin released on Thursday did not have any details. Chandrababu is suffering from dehydration and skin problems. Why these details are not mentioned in the health bulletin, Pattabhi questioned.

Was Jagan treated the same?

Observing that the arrest and failure to provide proper healthcare to Naidu is a political vendetta, Pattabhi asked if other political detainees across the country are facing the same situation. “Did this also happen to you, Jagan Reddy? When you were in prison for more than 16 months, were you also treated the same way,” he asked.

“In Chanchalguda prison, Jagan had a private kitchen with his own team of cooks and he had his own private doctors," Pattabhi alleged and said that Jagan enjoyed all kinds of facilities inside the jail.

“Till now not even a single allegation against wine has been proven. Even in the single piece of evidence submitted to the court in all cases filed against Chandrababu, people can understand that it is just a political vendetta, he remarked.

Now that deliberate harm is being done to Chandrababu Naidu, the TDP national spokesperson said that they are placing the facts before the public now. Kommareddy Pattabhiram said that it is not only the family members of Chandrababu, the entire state is expressing serious concern. He demanded immediate medical attention to be provided to Chandrababu by specialist doctors besides allowing his own team of doctors to visit Chandrababu.

Pattabhiram also demanded the release of daily health bulletins with all the details besides the extent of proper hygiene maintained inside the block in which Chandrababu is detained.

Meanwhile, YSRCP General Secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy addressing the media said that Chandrababu Naidu’s health condition is good. Contrary to the lies being spread by TDP, Naidu has in fact gained 1 kg weight.

"Yellow media is trying to spread lies in a bid to attract public sympathy for Naidu. The same media houses are not saying that Chandrababu did wrong and hence went to jail, but now are trying to distract the public. Also, one must remember that Jail is not anyone’s mother-in-law's house that you will be treated royally. It’s a jail and Naidu is behind bars because he is a criminal," said Sajjala.
