Telangana advocates commemorate Congress victory in Assembly polls

Speaking to a gathering of advocates at the High Court Bar Association Hall in Hyderabad, Aloori Giridhar Rao said that the Congress government will abide by the promises given to the people before the elections, especially the six guarantees given by the Congress High Command.
Further, Giridhar Rao said that the issues raised by the advocates will be resolved as soon as possible and gave assurance that he will present the issues to the government soon.
The Congress party in Telangana rejoiced as it surpassed the crucial majority mark of 60 seats in the 119-member state Assembly, leading to the removal of the incumbent Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government led by K Chandrashekar Rao.
The counting of votes for the Assembly election commenced at 8 am, and upon Congress securing more than half the seats, KCR promptly submitted his resignation as the chief minister to the state Governor. The Congress emerged victorious with 64 seats, while the BRS secured 39 seats.
