Under the supervision of the director of TSCSB, the officials organised a mega drive in the last week of September with 14 teams, comprising investigating officers from six Commissionerates including Cyberabad, Hyderabad, Rachakonda, Karimnagar, Warangal, Siddipet and Jagtial districts.
The teams visited nine states and arrested 19 offenders connected to 143 cases registered in Telangana and 726 reported incidents in other states. During this operation, the teams travelled across Telangana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Delhi, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala, and UP to find the accused.
The TSCSB director directed the staff of TSCSB to gather information regarding the offenders through technical analysis of data gathered in the cybercrimes to nab the persons/gangs behind these crimes.
The officials also seized 26 mobiles, one laptop, 45 debit cards, nine bank passbooks, one PoS machine, and 11 chequebooks.
The citizens are advised not to fall for manipulative techniques which lure in the victims through quick get-rich schemes and also part-time jobs (malicious trading applications, movie/travel destinations, rating frauds) which usually result in huge sums being siphoned off.
There has been a considerable rise in the number of cybercrimes related to fraudulent investments and businesses.
To combat these crimes effectively and with an aim to protect the citizens and the institutions of Telangana, the State government established the TSCSB with headquarters in Hyderabad.
