Hyderabad: Telangana government has decided to name several prominent roads in Hyderabad after legendary industrialist Ratan Tata, former US President Donald Trump, and leading global technology corporations.
The initiative aims to project Hyderabad as a symbol of progress, global collaboration, and innovation-driven growth.
Greenfield Radial Road to be named after Ratan Tata
The upcoming 100-metre greenfield radial road connecting the Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Raviryala with the proposed Radial Ring Road (RRR) will be named after Padma Bhushan awardee Ratan Tata.
Notably, the interchange at Raviryala already bears the name ‘Tata Interchange’, marking the industrialist’s growing association with the city’s infrastructure landscape.
‘Donald Trump Avenue’ proposed near the US Consulate
In a first-of-its-kind proposal globally, the high-profile road abutting the United States Consulate General in Hyderabad is set to be named ‘Donald Trump Avenue’, after the 45th and 47th President of the United States.
The Telangana government will soon formally communicate the proposal to the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the US Embassy for approval and coordination.
Google Street near upcoming Mega Campus
Another major decision involves naming a prominent stretch in the Financial District as ‘Google Street’, in recognition of the tech giant’s global impact. The road runs along Google’s upcoming campus in Hyderabad, which is expected to be the company’s largest campus outside the United States.
More tech giants to feature on Hyderabad Map
The state government is also considering naming important junctions and roads after other global technology leaders. As per official sources, ‘Wipro Junction’ and ‘Microsoft Road’ are likely to be introduced in line with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision is to integrate global innovation branding with urban development.
Vision to Brand Telangana as Innovation Capital
Earlier this year, while addressing the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) conclave in Delhi, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had announced the idea of naming select city roads after leading global corporations as part of Telangana’s investment and branding strategy.
Officials stated that more roads may be dedicated in honour of distinguished individuals and corporations, reinforcing Hyderabad’s identity as a world-class technology and business destination.
