Telangana Haj Committee holds draw of lots; 15 Khadim-ul-Hujjaj selected

Hyderabad: Telangana State Haj Committee held the draw of lots on Wednesday to choose Khadim-ul-Hujjaj (Haj servants) in the Haj House.

Chairman Haj Committee Mohammed Saleem, Chairman Waqf Board Mohammed Masihullah Khan, Commissioner Minorities Welfare, and Executive Officer Haj Committee BS Shafiullah were present on the occasion.

Haj Committee has received 165 applications for the selection as Khadim-ul-Hujjaj, of which 54 applications were rejected for non-compliance with the criteria laid down by the Haj Committee of India.

Fifteen applicants were selected and 5 more were kept as reserves.




Pilgrims will take off from. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamsabad, in the second week of June. They will first arrive in Jeddah. Later they will be shifted to Makkah. Haj Committee of India has engaged Vistara Airlines.

GMR Airport authorities have started work on the arrangements for the departure of pilgrims from a special terminal. A special conveyor belt has been installed for the first time.

Pilgrims of Telangana, Hyderabad-Karnataka, and Marathwada will depart to Jeddah in 15-18 flights. For Telangana, a quota of 5278 was allotted. There are chances for an increase in the total number of pilgrims in near future from the central pool.
