Hyderabad: A Telangana High Court advocate Rapolu Bhaskar has written a letter to chief minister A Revanth Reddy levelling multiple allegations against former Director-General of Police (DGP) and Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) chairman M Mahender Reddy.

He appealed to the chief minister to direct the authorities concerned to conduct a detailed inquiry on Mahender Reddy who he alleged had committed illegal activities and offences by misusing powers while serving as the DGP.

In his complaint, Bhaskar alleged that Mahender Reddy grabbed lands, bungalows, malls, commercial complexes, and farmhouses and has disproportionate assets of up to Rs 1 lakh crore. He has allegedly purchased properties in his name and used his family members, relatives and close friends as benamies.

“Mahender Reddy will mis-utlise his powers as the TSPSC chairman. As an advocate, I came to know about his illegal activities. I am filing the complaint to enlighten people about the issues and take necessary action against him,” he said.

The advocate alleged that the former DGP committed thousands of illegal activities in his tenure and even maintained good relationships with rowdy sheeters and gangsters.

“There is an open talk that Mahender Reddy used gangster Nayeem to grab disputed lands as well as to intimidate innocents in the dealings with illegal activities and crimes by arranging his own police officers in the Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Medak districts,” Bhaskar said.

Bhaskar also alleged that Mahender Reddy even hatched a plan to grab hundreds of crores of land property of veteran actor Sowndarya at Vattinagulapally. Sowndarya’s brother KS Amarnath was intimidated by Gangster Nayeem, he alleged.

He alleged that the former DGP took a keen interest in acquiring land during his tenure as Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad and continued owning 60 plus open plots which cost around Rs 500 crore in Durga Mata society/IDPL Society in Hydernagar KPHB on benami names in illegal manner.

The advocate alleged that he had been engaging his son-in-law in the real estate business by entrusting litigation lands in a big deal of Rs 600 crore in Abdullapurmet, Hayathnagar by misusing his powers.

He also alleged that the former DGP even hatched a plan to grab public money. Accordingly, he made a proposal to renovate the CCS, an old building in Hyderabad Commissionerate during his tenure in Hyderabad as city commissioner of police in 2016 with an estimated cost of Rs 16 crore.

He alleged that Mahender Reddy is doing business and illegal activities on behalf of his relatives, benamies — M Venkat Reddy (brother), M Chenna Reddy, M Mohan Reddy, Govardhan Reddy (co brother), Banala Chalapathi Reddy (co brother), Malla Reddy, CCTV business partner, Anitha (his wife), Ramachandraiah (brother), KC Reddy (ex-Higher Education Council Chairman, Andhra Pradesh) and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, Congress party leader, he added.
