Telangana: Telangana High Court dismissed the bail petitions of YS Bhaskar Reddy and Gajjala Uday Kumar Reddy in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case.
Justice K. Lakshman said there is reasonable ground to believe that the petitioners herein Uday Kumar Reddy and YS Bhaskar Reddy have committed the offense which is serious and grave in nature.
The court said they are very close relatives of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and YS Avinash Reddy, a sitting Member of Parliament from the Kadapa constituency.
The court said all the witnesses are from Andhra Pradesh and thus there is every possibility of the petitioners herein threatening/influencing the witnesses. Under these circumstances, it may not be possible for the court to conduct the trial in a fair and transparent manner.
The court called for the protection of witnesses and fairness of the trial.
T. Niranjan Reddy, Senior counsel appearing for the petitioners Uday Kumar Reddy and YS Bhaskar Reddy, said in the event of threatening/influencing witnesses by the petitioners/accused, the investigating officer can seek cancellation of bail.
After perusal of the entire CD file, Telangana High Court dismissed the bail petitions filed by both the petitioners.
