Hyderabad: A software engineer was allegedly raped by two men, one of them being her childhood friend, within the Vanasthalipuram police station limits.
Gautham Reddy from Hayat Nagarās Lecturersā Colony and another person were involved in the crime, the police said.
Case details
According to the Vanasthalipuram ACP Kasi Reddy, the incident happened when the victim was invited to a party by Gautham Reddy, her childhood friend.
On July 29 evening, the victim and Gautham Reddy went to Bommarillu Grand Restaurant in Omkar Nagar, where they consumed alcohol at the bar before heading to a hotel room. The victim, who was already intoxicated, screamed upon regaining consciousness and finding another person in the room with Gautham Reddy.
Hearing her screams, the hotel staff rushed to the room, causing the two men to flee. Based on the ID proof provided by the victim, who was discovered in a pool of blood, her family members were informed.
The hotel staff shifted her to a local hospital for treatment. The Vanasthalipuram police registered a case and have begun investigating. Gautham Reddy and his accomplice are currently reported to be absconding.
Woman raped inside moving bus
In another case, a woman was reportedly raped by the driver of a moving private bus travelling from Nirmal to Prakasam.
She stated that the driver stuffed a cloth in her mouth to stifle her screams. She called Dial 100 to inform the police about the incident while the bus was near Medchal.
Hyderabad police initiated a search for the bus and managed to intercept and stop the vehicle when it reached the Osmania University area. Following the incident, the police arrested two drivers employed by a private travels.
