Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange alert for several districts in Telangana, warning of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall from 30 August to 1 September 2024.
The advisory, issued by the Meteorological Centre in Hyderabad, urges authorities and the public to be prepared for potential disruptions and hazards due to the expected weather conditions.
Rainfall Distribution and Intensity
The IMD forecasts that the most affected districts will include Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, and Bhadradri Kothagudem, where extremely heavy rainfall is very likely.
In addition, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirisilla, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanamkonda.

The IMD has recommended that the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) and other response forces be on standby for immediate action. Advisories have also been issued to road, rail, and air traffic departments to regulate movement and ensure safety during the forecasted period.
