Telangana launches ‘Tourism Home Stay’ scheme to offer clean, safe, family-hosted stays

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has launched ‘Telangana Tourism Home Stay’, a new initiative aimed at promoting comfortable and world-class homestay accommodations across the state.
The program seeks to enhance lodging availability in district centres, rural areas and popular tourist destinations, offering visitors a unique blend of hospitality and local experiences.
World-class homestay experience for tourists
The initiative aims to provide domestic and international tourists with clean, safe and comfortable accommodation. Guests will have the opportunity to stay with local families, experience Telangana’s cultural traditions firsthand and enjoy authentic regional cuisine.
Classification and reclassification fees
To ensure quality standards, homestays can apply for classification or reclassification under the scheme. Fees for star categories are:
Silver: Rs 2,000
Gold: Rs. 4,000.
Demand drafts should be made payable to ‘Commissioner/Director of Tourism, Government of Telangana, Hyderabad.’
Applications invited from private investors
The Telangana Tourism Department has invited applications from private investors and individuals interested in developing homestay establishments in the state. Guidelines and application forms can be downloaded from the department’s office in Hyderabad or online at www.tourism.telangana.gov.in, according to a press release issued by the department.
