Telangana police warn citizens about fake online messages on discounts on pending traffic e-challans

Hyderabad: The Telangana Police has issued a clarification on the fake online messages in circulation about discounts on pending traffic e-challans for vehicles.

“It is noticed that false and misleading information is under circulation on social media and other online platforms regarding the discounts on pending traffic e-challans by Telangana Police,” the public notice said.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police made the following points:

1. No discounts on pending traffic e-challans:

No discount is being offered on pending traffic e-challans. Any claim of discount on pending traffic e-challans is fake, mischievous and fraught with fraudulent motives. The citizens are requested not to believe or act upon any such fake and misleading claim/information.

2. Verification of information: All official announcements are made exclusively through the Telangana Police verified platforms including the website and its official social media accounts.

3. Public to remain alert: Sharing or forwarding fake messages can lead to unnecessary confusion and is a punishable offence under the law. Citizens are requested to verify the facts before sharing.
