Hyderabad: Telangana Network Hospitals Association (TANHA) has resumed healthcare services under Aarogyasri, Employees Health Scheme (EHS), and Journalists Health Scheme (JHS) across private network hospitals in the state.
This follows a meeting with Health Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha, CEO P. Uday Kumar, and other officials in Hyderabad on Thursday night.
Meeting With the Health Minister
Representatives of TANHA said they placed their concerns before the minister once again. According to the association, the Health Minister “assured personally of resolving all the issues, both financial and non-financial matters” and also issued “immediate effective directions.”
Services Resumed
In light of the assurances, TANHA called off its protest.
“In view of the positive progress of our discussions and giving respect to the word of our HM sir, all the assurances made, we are resuming all our services of Aarogyasri, EHS, and JHS across the state of Telangana in all the private network hospitals with immediate effect,” the association said in its statement.
Acknowledgment to Leaders
TANHA expressed gratitude to the state leadership for facilitating the outcome.
“We immensely appreciate and thank our HM and CEO for their efforts. We also thank our State Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, and his other cabinet colleagues who helped us to make a peaceful long-term solution,” the statement added.
Apology to Patients
The association also issued an apology to the public for the disruption caused.
“We immensely apologise to our patients for the inconvenience caused to them during our protest days and hope for healthy days for all,” said Dr. Vaddiraju Rakesh, State President of TANHA.
Background
Private hospitals under TANHA had suspended services under Aarogyasri, EHS, and JHS schemes earlier this month, citing pending dues from the government and other operational issues.
The association had demanded clearance of arrears and resolution of non-financial concerns related to scheme administration.
The suspension had impacted thousands of patients dependent on the state-sponsored health schemes, leading to protests from affected families and appeals from civil society groups for an urgent resolution.
