Telangana to provide free power to govt schools, allow women SHGs to monitor their functioning

Hyderabad: Telangana government has decided to provide free power supply to state-run schools and authorize women Self Help Groups (SHGs) to oversee their functioning.
The decisions were taken in a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He directed the officials to take the required measures to provide basic facilities in all government schools.
Chief Minister asked the authorities to take steps to ensure people admire the government schools.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to immediately provide free power to all government schools and colleges. CM Revanth Reddy held a day-long review on improving basic infrastructure in schools at MCRHRD Institute on Sunday.
Chief Minister suggested allowing Self Help Groups to monitor the functioning of schools.
Chief Minister asked the officials to conduct a study on the improvement of facilities in schools in other states and implement good policies in Telangana. The CM clarified that funds will be released through Green Channel to improve basic facilities in the schools.
Chief Minister wanted the establishment of digital classrooms in all government schools. Officials have been directed to provide digital lessons with experienced teachers through T-SAT and also focus on installing Solar Panels in government schools. The Education wing should also make efforts to seek CSR funds and NRIs to help improve facilities in schools.
The officials have been asked to make available the details of all government schools on the official website. Chief Minister directed the officials to complete the works in government schools by the end of summer vacation and conduct a comprehensive study on the National Education Policy enforced by the Union Government.
He suggested holding discussions with academics and intellectuals on improving educational standards in the schools. The CM asked the officials to constitute a governing body on the lines of ISB to establish Skill University and also pay special focus to NAC ( National Academy of Construction).
