Telangana's Sukumar Das to represent India at World Paramotor Championship 2022
Prabhu Sukumar Das, the man who introduced paragliding and paramotoring in Telangana through his company 'Vertical World Aerosports and Adventure', is all set to represent India in the World Paramotor Championship 2022 that will be held in April in Brazil.

Hyderabad: Prabhu Sukumar Das, the man who introduced paragliding and paramotoring in Telangana through his company 'Vertical World Aerosports and Adventure', is all set to represent India in the World Paramotor Championship 2022 that will be held in April in Brazil.
The Telangana-based entrepreneur is one of the four pilots from India and the only one from south India to participate in the 11th FAI championship. "I participated in the 2018 National and Asia Oceanic Championship that was held in Thailand and the Indian team won the bronze. This made us eligible to participate in the World Paramotor Championship," he said.
Telangana minister for sports V. Srinivas Goud congratulated Sukumar on his achievement.
When asked about his preparation, Sukumar said, "I have been training for over a year. I have been practicing flying long distances with limited fuel, spot landing, flying over water around pylons and slaloms. The four of us will be participating as a team but right now we are practicing on our own and working on our timing and techniques."
Sukumar has been learning aero-activities since 2011. Though earlier, he did a hotel management course and spent time bike riding, he found his passion in aero-sports. He has participated in numerous tournaments and represented India in Thailand in 2017 and 2018, and won the bronze for India in 2018.
Apart from his venture Vertical World Aerosports and Adventure, Sukumar is the man behind the Spider-Man kit, a tool used by people who clean windows and glass walls of skyscrapers. He also introduced the 'Building Branding' concept. Numerous companies avail of his services to clean high-rise buildings and for advertisement stickers for buildings (as a replacement of hoardings).
He has also conducted numerous events such as 'Akasam Lo Bathukamma' for the Telangana Formation Day and hosted shows like Siddipet Air Show, She Teams Marathon, and Mysore Dasara Air Show.
Sukumar hopes that the development of aero-sports will kick off well with the Paramotor Asian Championship 2022 that will be held in Hyderabad and Mahabubnagar later this year. He is also planning to open an all-inclusive para training centre upon the state government's approval. But as of now, Sukumar is excited and looking forward to the new adventure and hopes to bring laurels to the country.
